Russian Army on Parade 1914 - Russische Armee Parade 1914 The Georgi Ivanov Figures - Die Georgi Iwanow Figuren To start off, here are the 1914 Russian Imperial Guard and regular Army on parade figures, 30mm, all of which were produced by Georgi Ivanov, the son of an Imperial Guard officer. He defected to Sweden (during WWII?) and employed German and French engravers to do the figures. "Body Guard", "Leib Guard" or "Life Guard" - Russian Leib-Gvardi, is abbreviated here as "LG". With the fall of the Soviet Union and more recently the Internet access to information about the Tsarist armies, I have finally been able to get the information needed to accurately paint the figures. Also of note, I had a source that showed what horse colors were prescribed for each regiment and for the dragoon regiments, the trumpeter’s and kettledrummer’s mounts were black. On the flags, generally, they bore Tsar Nicholas I’s cypher (Cyrillic N looks like “H”) and a religious icon of the Savior on the other sided, and someplace on the flag the imperial double-headed imperial eagle appeared.
